Appreciate Every Moment!

Happy Monday! Today I'm talking about how we all should be a little more appreciative. I think not being grateful or appreciative enough is something we're all guilty of. Sometimes life gets into a somewhat boring routine and you stop really appreciating how fortunate you really are!

As it approaches the first anniversary since my Grandad passed away, instead of being sad, I'm trying to stay positive as possible and think of all the lovely memories I have of him.. And funnily enough, my favourite memories are always the ones that felt so insignificant at the time, so I love this quote SO much at the moment!

Life is so short and fragile, you never know what could happen tomorrow. So always remember to let your loved ones know how much you appreciate them.

The Spring Tag

The Spring Tag 2015 Blog

Hello Lovelies! As it's now officially spring, I thought I would do the spring tag! I've seen two variations of it flying around, so I've mixed and matched the questions a little.

001: What are you looking forward to the most in spring?
As I've mentioned before, I just cannot wait until the weather has improved a little and I can leave the house without having to wear layers upon layers. The clocks went forward one hour last night too, which means lighter evenings are on the way!

002: Favourite thing about spring?
I did write a whole blog post on all my favourite things about spring, but I think my top five favourite things are the warmer weather, lighter evenings, all the beautiful flowers, waking up and hearing all the birds singing and the spring fashion is beautiful too!

003: Favourite spring nail polish?
During spring I always opt for pastel shades and my favourites are definitely mint green shades, such as Mint Candy Apple from Essie and Sugared Apple from the Barry M's Gelly range!

004: Favourite spring lip product?
As I always wear pretty dark, matte shades throughout autumn and winter, when spring finally comes around I like to wear nice, subtle, natural shades. My current favourites are Lovelorn from MAC and the Too Faced Melted Lipstick in 'Melted Peony'.

005: Favourite spring drink?
Definitely rose lemonade!

006: Favourite flower?
Ooh, this is such a tough question! My top five are: Tulips, Hydrangeas, Roses, Peonies and Dahlias.

007: Favourite spring candle?
As I've mentioned before, I always become obsessed with lighting candles in the autumn/winter time and I rarely light them during the rest of the year. But I do really want to pick up one of the Easter Yankee Candles!

008: Favourite perfume to wear in spring?
I'm currently really loving Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs!

009: What are your favourite clothing items to wear in spring?
I love wearing skater skirts, with floaty, blouses!

010: Any plans for spring break or upcoming vacations?
I was originally going to be heading to Florida later this year, but we then made the decision to postpone it due to how bad my health is right now. As a lot of you already know, I suffer with CFS and going to Disney would involve an awful lot of walking everyday and if I'm honest, right now I just wouldn't manage it. I even struggled walking around Brighton everyday.  This year, I just definitely want to focus on trying everything I can to get better, so I can start living a little bit more and hopefully will get to go in the future. Just so we still had something to look forward to, we recently booked to stay in a little cottage in Dorset near where they filmed Broadchurch and it's dog friendly, so we can take little Buzz (who definitely won't be little by then haha) I'm pretty excited for that! My Nan and Grandad used to go on holiday to Dorset every year and I've been wanting to go ever since I lost my Grandad!

Friday Favourites: 003

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all having a great Friday so far! Usually I write my 'Friday Favourites' posts on a Thursday and schedule them to go up for 10am Friday, but as we had visitors yesterday - the blogging had to be postponed. We decided to take a trip to Ashridge forest and take Buzz. On the way, the Satnav failed us as usual and we ended up in Aldbury (Hertfordshire) which is such a lovely, quaint little village. It's so beautiful, I want to live there! Luckily, we got there in the end! Anyway enough rambling.. On with the favourites!

Youtuber: Niomi Smart. I remember when Niomi first made her channel and to be honest, I thought it was just going to be another copy of all the other popular beauty channels and for that reason I never bothered to watch any of her videos.. But then recently, one of her healthy videos was in my recommended videos, so I watched it and became obsessed! She's such a lovely, lovely girl and her healthy videos have inspired me so much to finally start the process of being healthy again. Watch her here:

Music: Noah & the Whale. If you know me personally, you'll know how long I've loved Noah and the Whale and my favourite album will always be "The First Days of Spring" I first become obsessed with this back in 2010 and I still love it now, it's always my go to album to listen to in spring!

TV: Pretty Little Liars. Is it even acceptable to say Pretty Little Liars agaaaain?! I'm sorry, but I didn't want to lie and just make something up haha! As I've mentioned before, PLL has been amazing recently during the build up to the big 'reveal' and on Tuesday it was the spring finale and I was sad enough to stay up and live stream it to avoid any spoilers and it was amazing! I think it was the first episode where I was actually scared! It's now not back until June which means until then I'll be reading lots of different theories on who A really is!

Product: Lovelorn from MAC. Ages ago I lost my Lovelorn lipstick and was so sad aaand this week I found it again in one my my old bags! It's such a pretty shade which I think is perfect for the spring/summer time.

Instagram: Charlotte Valentine. This week I found Charlotte's Instagram and became completely obsessed! If like me, you love Instagram accounts with lots of pretty pictures and beautiful homeware, definitely go over and check her account out! Find her here:

Thank you for reading! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! xo

TIGI S Factor // Smoothing Lusterizer

TIGI S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer Blog Review

Hello Lovelies! I feel like I haven't done a beauty review in such a long time, so today I thought I'd share with you, my current favourite hair care product!

The S Factor range from TIGI was first brought to my attention by Zoella back in 2012 and the Smoothing Lusterizer has been something I haven't been able to live without ever since. I love having long hair and I definitely won't joining the hype and having short hair any time soon, but it does come with it's disadvantages. After washing my hair, it becomes incredibly tangled and sometimes it's such a task to brush it all out and it also leaves it looking incredibly frizzy.. But luckily the Smoothing Lusterizer is the perfect product to combat both of those problems!

I've always been in two minds when it comes to the packaging - I love the colour scheme and the bottle is pretty unique, but at the same time it's unnecessarily big which makes it the worst thing to take travelling. If you're like me and love your hair products to smell good, you will love the S Factor range as they smell just like strawberry laces or strawberries and cream! The formula is to a medium consistency, but incredibly light weight which I love because I find my hair does tend to become oily pretty easily after using product and even if I apply this to the roots, it doesn't make my hair oily at all!

TIGI S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer Blog Review

One thing that might be slightly off putting for some people is that the product looks shimmery when first squeezed out from the tube, but as the shimmer is so finely milled, once it's applied to the hair, it no longer looks like actual shimmer but gives you the shiniest hair ever!

You can apply this to either wet or dry hair, but I always use it on damp hair after I've washed it. I apply it from root to tip, but mainly concentrate on the ends and then I brush my hair to make sure the product has been distributed evenly and detangled all the hair. After applying it leaves my hair smelling, feeling and looking amazing and it also makes it so much more easier to style too!

Overall, this is definitely one of my favourite hair products I've ever used! At £15.25 it is more pricey than I'd usually spend, but I'll always repurchase because it's one of those products I cannot live without and each bottle does last an awful long time!

Have you tried this before? Or, any of the other products from the S Factor range?

Spring - A Fresh Start.

Blog Motivational Monday - Fresh Starts
*Images from Pinterest*

Fresh starts can happen at any time, but it seems to me that we all have that special time that makes us finally feel 'ready' to take the world on and start again. Spring is a time of new beginnings and for me, it always feel like the perfect time to have a fresh start and forget the past. The prospect of a new beginning is refreshing, but it can also feel a little daunting sometimes too. Last year I was unhappy most of the time and it didn't feel like it would ever end... But that's the beauty of a fresh start - you can draw a line under it all and whilst taking small steps towards the life you've dreamt of - you find yourself filled with so much more happiness.

Whilst we're on the topic of fresh starts... I was growing pretty tired of the way my blog looked and thought it could do with a little revamp. I've seen so many blogging 'tips' that say your template has to be completely black and white to be taken seriously, but I had to keep a little colour! This one is definitely more subtle than before and after tweaking the html a little, I am really happy with it!

What do you think?

Buzz: One Month On...

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all well! Today marks a whole month since we first bought Buzz home, so I thought I'd write his first update post and just give you some more information on him as in the last post I wanted to keep it pretty short and just introduce him to you all!

Buzz is now 11 weeks old and is growing incredibly fast and weighs around 8kg. When we went to pick him up we were provided with a diet sheet which instructed us to feed him on Pro Plan Puppy Food for Large Breeds four times a day, which we have been doing, until next week when he will drop down to three meals. He's always been really good with eating and knows what din-dins means and he always gets SO excited.

The thing I was most nervous about before getting him, was how he would sleep at night. Before we even had found a particular puppy we already decided that we would crate train him. From what I've seen online there seems to be mixed opinions on this, but we made sure to do a good amount of research before going ahead and in the end we thought it would be the best for him. As he was only 7 weeks old when we brought him home, he was very nervous and he felt really safe in the crate. We didn't have any problems with sleeping, he cried a little the first couple of nights - but nothing major. He's now in a pretty good routine, we throw his teddies into the crate and he knows it's bed time and he will get into his bed straight away!

I'm really happy with how things are going with his training, we haven't knuckled down and done anything that amazing yet, but he knows how to sit, give you his paw, high five, stay and lie down on command.

Vaccinations were something we were eager to get over and done with, so we could start taking him for walks and he had his first one just before he was 8 weeks and the second one when he was 10 weeks. Shortly after having his second vaccination he started to become really sleepy and wanted to cuddle alot more, which was definitely strange because he is more of a playful puppy than cuddly. Five days later he had a lump the size of a tennis ball on his back, it was so heartbreaking and I was just thinking the worst. It turns out the vaccination caused an abscess and we still haven't really been told why, we're still waiting waiting for a phone call to get to the bottom of it. We took him to a different vets to treat his lump and they gave him four needles in an attempt to reduce the lump as much as possible and they also gave him some anti-biotics. At one point it was looking like he would need to go back to be sedated and have it completely removed, but it is slowly going down now and he's definitely back to his usual self!

We've now also finally taken him for his first walks! At the moment of writing this he doesn't really get the concept and decides to sit down alot, but once he gets going he really enjoys it!

And I think that's all I have to say at the moment. I'll probably do another one of these posts when it's been three months since we've had him and I can imagine he will have grown an awful lot more by then!

Friday Favourites: 002

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all well! This week I don't have as many favourites as I'd usually like and that's probably due to how rubbish the past week has been. Buzz has been really poorly which has been really upsetting, but I'll talk about that more in his update post.

Youtuber: Frankie Dare. Frankie is a qualified makeup artist and does a mixture of beauty and lifestyle videos. I only started watching her recently, but I just love how bubbly and chatty she is and I also love her adorable little cat, Nala! Find her here:

Blogger: This week instead of having a favourite blogger, I thought I'd share my favourite blog post from the week and it's "Instagram Makeup: Let's Get Real" from Laura Louise Makeup's blog! In the post Laura gives an insight of what being a MUA is really like and it sounds like a lot of hard work. SO many young girls think that uploading your #FOTD to Instagram makes you a MUA.. It doesn't. Such a good read and I really recommend you read it too!

Product: This weeks favourite product has to be the S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer from TIGI! This product has been a firm favourite of mine for such a long time, it combats frizz, fly away hairs and it detangles my hair so easily!

Movie: Finders Keepers. I love Horror and Thriller movies so much, but I haven't been watching many of them recently. We decided to watch Finders Keepers this week, which is pretty similar to the movie 'Annabelle' if you've seen that - both are about an evil doll. To be honest, I think Finders Keepers is so much better than Annabelle!

Pinning: This week I'm still really loving Pinterest and I've been pinning various different things, but mainly lots of pretty spring themed images. I just cannot wait for warmer weather, obviously since getting Buzz I've been spending a lot more time outside and I'm so bored of the cold weather haha!

Thank you for reading my second Friday Favourites! I hope you've all had a lovely week and will enjoy your weekend!

Pinspiration : Getting Organised

When it comes to being organised, I'm pretty awful.. and I think that's probably one of the main reasons I sometimes lack motivation when it comes to blogging. I don't actually have anywhere special to blog, I just usually curl up either on my bed or sofa with the laptop and it's definitely not the most inspiring atmosphere. I've been in need of a new laptop for a long time now and I was lucky enough to receive enough money for my birthday to buy one.. In the end I decided to opt for a desktop computer rather than a laptop because I was always so much more productive when I had a desktop. Now, I just need a desk...

To get a little inspiration for how I want my desk to look, I've been spending too much time on Pinterest, pinning various images and I've completely fallen in love with that Kate Spade - gold, pink and white combination. Here are some of my favourite images:

Motivational Monday: 001

Hello Lovelies! The second new feature on my blog starts today and it is Motivational Monday! I really wanted to add some more positivity to my blog and I thought this was the perfect way. I've always had a huge love for quotes and as sad as it may sound, reading quotes have helped me through some of the hardest times. I'm not sure if these will be a weekly thing, but they will definitely be a regular feature.

When it comes to silly things like, counting down the days until I go on holiday or until I can buy that really expensive lipstick I've had my eye on a while, I have little to no patience. When it comes to dealing with people that make my life really difficult and unhappy, I have too much patience and it always leaves me feeling so drained and unhappy. After loosing my Grandad, it really hit me how short life is and how every single one of us deserve to be happy. Before, I would try so hard with people and I'd wait SO long for people to 'change' but the truth is, some people don't want to change, they're happy being them and that's okay.

If someone makes you sad more than they make you happy, it's time to call it a day and walk away. The idea of walking away can sometimes feel impossible, but as soon as you do, you'll finally feel free.  I recently did just this and I already feel so much more happy and less anxious!

Remember, you deserve to be happy!

Wishlist #7: Spring Fashion

The evenings are getting lighter, which means spring is on it's way and we'll hopefully be having some lovely warm weather in no time! In spring I like to keep things fairly simple, I seem to stick to pretty pastel shades and leave all the bright, florals until summer. As I don't have too much body confidence right now, I've been on the look out for something that is perfect for warmer weather, but still covers me up a little bit and the grecian trim dress is so perfect for spring and summer!

If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll probably be aware of my current obsession with all things Kate Spade and I love this beautiful white watch so much. I've never actually bought an expensive watch before, but I think I might have to get this one!

Friday Favourites: 001

Hello Lovelies! As I mentioned recently, I really want to add some lifestyle posts into the mix, so I've decided on two different types of posts that I think I will really enjoy writing and hopefully they will be a weekly thing on my blog. I didn't want to be too brave and start them both right away, so I thought I'd start with "Friday Favourites" which will basically be a round up of my favourite things from the week. I often share my beauty favourites, but never lifestyle things. I personally really enjoy reading these kinds of posts because I find it's a great way of getting to know the blogger more. I also think these would be pretty cool to look back on too! This week I'm starting with nine categories, but I think I'll probably change it up each week!

App: Pinterest. If you follow me on Pinterest, this is probably no surprise. I seem to go through stages with Pinterest, sometimes I'm completely obsessed and then I'll go a few weeks where I don't log on at all. As sad as it probably sounds, it makes me so happy and gives me so much motivation!

Youtuber: This week I don't really have one YouTuber in particular, but I have been really enjoying watching homeware hauls and room tours. I'm really in the mood to redecorate my room, so I'm looking for all of the inspiration!

Blogger: Hannah Gale. I believe I found Hannah's blog via Facebook? and I've been completely obsessed ever since. I just love how original and different her posts are. The way she writes makes them a pleasure to read and I always look forward to her posts! Have a read of her blog here:

TV: Pretty Little Liars. I'm aware I've spoken about this show way too much on my blog already, but it's so gripping! I have to admit though, at one point I was getting slightly bored of it.. We're now into the fifth season and I feel some of the episodes were just completely pointless to the story, but it's now starting to get really good again, just in time for the 'big reveAl'

Product: Hand Cream. Ever since getting Buzz, I seem to be washing my hands an awful lot more which has made them so, so dry that they actually hurt. So I had a look through my beauty products and found a hand cream from Neal's Yard. I don't actually think I've loved a hand cream this much before. It leaves my hands feeling so soft and moisturised and it smells uh-mazing, just like oranges!
Pinning: This week I've been thinking alot about Charlie's birthday, although it's still a good few months away now, I really want to do something special for him. Last year his birthday was the day before my Grandad's funeral, so it didn't even feel like his birthday. Usually the weather is starting to be pretty lovely in June, so I'm thinking of having a little garden party and hiring/buying a marquee just in case the English weather does let us down! So, to get some inspiration I've made a little board on Pinterest and I feel so excited!

Music: Lenka. I first heard about Lenka back in 2008 after hearing one of her songs in the Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging movie and I became completely obsessed with her album and had it on repeat for a while. I recently randomly started listening to her again and I've fallen in love with her songs all over again!

Instagram: Gh0stparties. Since I've become obsessed with all things homeware again, I've been really loving Kate's Instagram! It's so perfect for a little bit of home decor inspiration and I just love how dreamy her desk area is!

Quote: This weeks quote comes from the latest episode of PPL: "The truth will set you free, but first it turns you inside out." SO true!

Lush Ocean Salt Scrub

Whenever I'm in a Lush store, I always get so transfixed by which bath bombs to buy that I never bother to have a good look around at the other products on offer. When I was last in Lush back in January, I decided to not go mad when buying bath bombs, because they don't have a great shelf life on them, so there isn't much point having hundreds stocked away. I decided to have a little look at the skincare items and I saw the 'Ocean Salt' scrub and I remember alwaays seeing this on Instagram a while back and I'd been wanting to give it a go ever since!

"Limes steeped in vodka, grapefruit and lashings of salt go into this invigorating face and body scrub. Sea salt is rich in minerals and is excellent for scrubbing away any dead skin. We also add rich, silky avocado butter, coconut oil and seaweed absolute to keep your skin soft, smooth and conditioned. If you feel you need a good scrub down, apply to dry skin and rub all over using circular motions, or for a more gentle buff, use on damp skin."

The Ocean Salt Scrub can either be used as a facial or body scrub, but I've always just used it on my face. The consistency of the scrub is pretty thick and it also has small chunks of salt to exfoliate the skin. I've currently been using it around 1-2 times a week and I just apply it to damp skin. The thing I love the most is the smell - it's so citrusy and zingy and those type of scents are my favourite when it comes to skincare products. The scrub always leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and smooth and a little amount of product definitely goes a long way. I think sometimes, if I use too much it can sting a little and I don't have sensitive skin at all! They do also sell an alcohol free version of this, so if you do suffer with sensitive skin, maybe give that one a whirl instead.

Overall, I love this and I definitely think I'll have to repurchase it once I run out! It is a little expensive at £7.75 for a 120g pot and £13.95 for a 250g pot, but I definitely think it's worth it!

Have you tried this?
