A Little Break

Hello Lovelies! It only feels like five minutes ago I was telling you all I was having a little blogging break for Christmas and here we are again. Today I'm off to Brighton for a weeks break. It's my 20th birthday on Monday (I FEEL SO OLD) and i'm so excited to be spending it in Brighton. If you know me well, you'll know how special Brighton is to me. Early last year , my lovely Grandad passed away and Brighton was a place I spent a lot of time with him and as soon as I lost him, Brighton was the only place I wanted to be. We're staying in a little apartment on the seafront and I'll probably write another post on the company we booked with once I'm home (We've used them before and they're amazing!) I was considering writing up a few posts and scheduling them to go up whilst i'm away, but to be honest I just want a blogging free week. I've been feeling so stressed about my blog recently, I think i'm just putting too much pressure on myself, so a little break is the thing I need.

If you're familiar with Brighton and have any recommendations of restaurants and things, please leave them in the comments! I've been many times before, but we always seem to stick to the same places haha! I'll still be posting on Instagram, so if you do want to keep up with my travels, feel free to follow me. - @bellechaton and there will definitely be a haul up once i'm home, I alwaays spend a little too much whilst i'm there!

Wishlist #6: Beauty

Drugstore/Highstreet Beauty Wishlist 2015 Blog

Recently I've been thinking about how much I miss buying high street/drugstore makeup. I used to love nothing more than mooching around Boots and Superdrug, swatching copious different products and buying a whole basket load of different products to try. These days, all I ever seem to buy are high end products, so I think my next shopping trip will definitely consist of picking up some new Boots and Superdrug goodies.

001: Makeup Revolution // Golden Sugar Blush & Contour Palette | £6
Makeup Revolution seem to be the most popular high street brand at the moment and I feel like the only beauty blogger out there that hasn't tried any of their products yet. All of their palettes look incredible and I definitely want to get one of their Blush & Contour palettes. After having a little look at some swatches I've popped 'Golden Sugar' onto my wishlist!

002: Maybelline // Instant Age Rewind Concealer | £7.99
This concealer has been on my wishlist for such a long time now, everyone always raves about how amazing of a product it is, but for some reason I can never get hold of it!

003: Sleek // Contour Kit in Light | £6.49
I've had my eye on this for a few years now, but I always just never pick it up for some reason. If you've tried this, let me know your thoughts! I really want to love it because having a little kit like this would be perfect for travelling with!

004: Tanya Burr // I Found Nemo Lipgloss | £6.99
As I've mentioned many a time before, lip glosses just aren't my favourite, but I actually really like the ones from Tanya Burr and I was really excited to hear she was releasing a few more shades. I wasn't sure which shade to get, but after seeing Zoella wearing 'I Found Nemo' I fell in love. It's such a lovely coral shade which will be perfect for spring/summer.

005: Zoella // Just Say Yes Cosmetic Bag | £8.00
I've wanted a nice makeup bag for a while. Primark makeup bags are nice, but they don't last very long and my prayers were finally answered on Christmas Day when I received a really pretty pastel pink one from Ted Baker, but of course this dream was short lived when my cat thought it would be a totally fun time to chew it up (seriously, he's like a dog) so, again i'm on the look out for a new makeup bag. I wasn't a fan of Zoella's previous releases, but this one is super pretty!

006: Barry M // Ballerina Nail Paint | £2.99
I have a serious love/hate relationship with Barry M nail polishes, the only ones I really like are the Gelly collection, the others chip way too easily. But after seeing this shade numerous times, I need it!

007: Bourjois // Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick | £8.99
These lipsticks were featured in my 2014 beauty favourites and I definitely want to pick up some more shades. I can't believe i'm saying this, but i'm starting to love natural shades much more than the usual bold ones I always opt for, so I definitely want to pick up the shade 'Nude-ist' asap!

008: Rimmel London // Exaggerate Lip Liner | £3.99
Up until recently, I would never buy lip liners because I thought it would look a little over the top, but then I gave them a go and realised how easy they were to blend, making them look really natural. I've heard so much talk about the lip liner from Rimmel in the shade 'Eastend Snob' and after seeing this post over on Alice's blog I added it to my wishlist right away!

What's currently on your wishlist?

Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses Palette | Link

As I've mentioned before, I am currently completely obsessed with Too Faced and I was so happy to receive The Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses Palette for Christmas!

Admittedly, I usually hate these little palettes, I'll use them once and then they'll be left to sit comfortably in my makeup collection, but I've actually really been loving using this! Firstly, can we just take a second to admire the packaging? pastel pink and a gold glitter? Too beautiful! Inside you are met with three eyeshadows - White Chocolate (which is a matte white, perfect for highlighting the brow bone!) Crème Brulee (a gorgeous shimmery gold) and Haute Chocolate (a beautiful shimmery brown) All three shades are taken from the Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette which I also received for Christmas and am also loving! I find the eyeshadows are so creamy, easy to blend and long lasting. I actually wore all three shades on NYE and a couple of people asked what I was wearing on my eyes.

Also inside, you'll find two bronzers - Chocolate Soleil (which is matte) and Snow Bunny (which is a shimmer bronzer) my favourite is definitely Chocolate Soleil, I've been on the look out for a matte bronzer and this is perfect. When I first apply it, it always looks crazily scary, but blends like a dream and looks so lovely and natural. I love it so much, that I think i'll have to pick it up in full size! And lastly, you also receive a La Crème Lip Gloss in 'Naked Dolly' which is a light pinky/peach shade and apparently it's not actually available to buy separately until Spring 2015!

Overall, I am completely in love with this palette and I definitely think i'll take it away with me for my birthday. This was originally £32.00 but has now been reduced to £22.40 so if you want it, make sure you get it ASAP!

NYX Sweet Temptations Butter Gloss Set

NYX Sweet Temptations Butter Gloss Set | £11.00 | Link

NYX are a brand that I've heard non-stop rave reviews about, but I always thought that their products were pretty hard to get hold of here in the UK. It must be a lot easier than I though, because I ended up receiving two of their products for Christmas. One of them being the Sweet Temptations Butter Gloss Set! Inside contains three of the butter glosses in the shades Apple Strudel - a peachy coral, Eclair - a cool toned pink and Cherry Pie - a bright red.

"Buttery soft and silky smooth, our scrumptious new Butter Lip Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie—and makes your lips look downright luscious. Swipe it on alone or over your favorite lipstick for creamy sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky."

As I've probably mentioned in the past, I rarely ever wear lip glosses. I just hate that super gloopy/sticky feeling on my lips. But as these were a gift I thought I'd give them a whirl and to my surprise I actually think they are pretty amazing! Firstly, they smell incredible, really vanillary! Each tube contains 8ml of product and individually they retail for £5 each. The applicator is a typical doe-foot, which I really like because I find that they apply the product a lot more evenly. These literally glide onto the lips and feel so lovely and silky smooth. And I can confirm they are definitely not sticky in the slightest! The only small niggle I have is that they are not at all long lasting. I find they only last around 40 minutes on my lips, maybe an hour when wearing with a lipstick.

Overall, I love these! They are one of the very few lip glosses that I actually like and I definitely think they live up to they hype! Would I pay £5 for one? Probably not, but as they're cheaper in the US I may pick up a couple whilst I'm there later in the year!

Have you tried these? What did you think?

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel Blog Review
The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel | NOW £1 | Link

Winter is definitely my least favourite season, I cannot cope with all the rain and the cold. At the moment, my favourite thing to do to make myself feel a little better is light some candles and have a lovely hot bubble bath! If you saw my 'What I Got For Christmas' post, you'd of seen I received a fair few Lush and Body Shop products and I've been really enjoying using them. My current favourite shower gel is definitely the Glazed Apple one from The Body Shop and I'm so sad that it's limited edition! I really love The Body Shop Shower Gels, I find that you only need to use the smallest amount to create a generous lather and they always feel like they really cleanse your skin too - leaving your skin feeling so lovely and soft! The Glazed Apple scent is incredible, it's a fresh apple scent, but with an added sweetness to it too and I find the scent lingers on my skin for a good few hours. I believe this was around £4-£5, but it's now been reduced to a mere £1, so if you did want to give it ago, pick some up asap!

Minvita Baobab Body Oil

Minvita Baobab Body Oil Review
Minvita Baobab Body Oil
Minvia Baobab Body Oil* | £35.00 | Link

When I was a young teen, I was so good at taking care of my skin. I never bothered with all those highly perfumed body butters, I found that a simple body oil kept my skin in incredible condition. Fast forward a few years and I'll admit it - I've become lazy. I just hate waiting ages for moisturiser to dry, but my skin is currently in awful condition - it's dry, has no elasticity and I now have a few pesky stretch marks too. Enough is enough, I need to get back into actually giving my skin the care that it's so desperately craving. During the past year I've tried so many different body butters/oils, but I still hadn't found one I loved, so when Minvita asked me if i'd like to try their body oil I jumped at the chance!

The Baobab Body Oil from Minvia is 100% natural and organic which really intrigued me because it's rare that I use a product that is completely natural. I'd never actually heard of 'Baobab' before, but after some quick research I discovered that it's a nutritious African super fruit and the oil is made from it's seeds. Minvita claim that the oil helps to improve the skin's elasticity, it's softness and appearance, eases bruising and scaring, nourishes ageing skin, reduces appearance of stretch marks and intensely moisturises dry skin. It's also high in vitamins A, D, E, F.

I've now been using this for a few weeks and I've been really enjoying it! I always apply this after a bath or shower, I really love how fast it sinks in to the skin and it doesn't leave any oily residue. I also love that it has a spray nozzle, making it so easy and quick to apply. I've definitely noticed a huge difference since I started using it, my skin feels so much more firm and the skin on my legs looks a lot nicer. Strech mark wise - it doesn't seem to have made a difference, but nothing seems to be getting rid of them! At £35 this is definitely more of a treat, but it does work amazingly well and I highly recommend it!

What I've Been Watching - Top 10 Of 2014

Hello Lovelies! Today post is another 'What I've Been Watching' but as 2014 has just come to a close, I thought I'd write a round up of my top ten favourite programmes/movies I watched during the past year.

001: First up is Pretty Little Liars! I started watching this at the beginning of last year because I heard so many people say how obsessed they were with it and I also heard it was pretty similar to Gossip Girl. The first time I watched it was with my boyfriend and I thought we'd both hate it, but we both became obsessed haha! (How lucky am I, that my boyfriend watches PLL?) If you've never watched it, it follows four girls after the death of one of their best friends. No-one was ever caught for her murder, so the girls all come together and try to unravel the mystery behind it all. They also start receiving anonymous messages that threaten to reveal all their secrets.  It's now onto the fifth series and there is another two to go. I cannot wait to see how it all ends! If you'd like to watch this all five seasons are now on Netflix (UK) and they will be adding a new episode weekly.

002: Next up is One Tree Hill! I always used to see the quotes from the show all over Tumblr, so when I saw that every season was on Netflix (US) I just had to watch it and I became obsessed! The story follows a group of friends that live in the town of Tree Hill. I love that it isn't a typical girly programme that just focuses on boys - it touches on so many different problems and subjects.

003: American Horror Story - Another Netflix goodie. If you love horror movies, you will definitely love this too. Each season is so different - my favourites were definitely the first two seasons - Murder House and Asylum. Oh and like most girls, I've completely fallen in love with Evan Peters.

004: Broadchurch was first aired back in 2013 I believe? I completely missed it, but every week my whole Twitter timeline was filled with hundreds of tweets about the show and it did sound amazing! So when I saw that it was being repeated, I knew I HAD to watch it. It's such an amazing show, if you've never seen it, it's about the murder of a young boy and the mystery behind his death. Season two started on Monday and the first episode was incredible. This is a must watch!

005: Next up is Breaking Bad - I don't seem to hear as much hype about this now, but it used to be huge! I completely binged watched this when I was really ill for a few weeks last year. I won't explain what it's about because I think it's definitely one of those shows that when you try to explain it, everyone is like 'That sounds rubbish!' but I actually really enjoyed it!

006: Friends! An oldie, but such a goodie! I started watching this whilst I was in Mexico and finished watching it once I arrived home. Believe it or not, I had never watched every single episode and this made me a little sad, but now I have! This is probably one of my favourite tv shows ever, it's one of those few shows that just never get old, no matter how many times I've seen each episode I still laugh so much watching it!

007: Once Upon A Time - Everyone I heard speak about this show said it was really rubbish, so I wasn't expecting much, but personally I loved it! The story follows the residents of those living in the town Storybrooke and it features all your favourite Disney and fairy tale characters!

008: Now on to the movies! First up is Maleficent - My favourite Disney movie whilst growing up was always Sleeping Beauty, so I was way too excited to see Maleficent! In Sleeping Beauty you're always made to feel a huge dislike towards Maleficent, but in this movie you see a complete different side to the story - it's amazing! If you haven't watched this yet, definitely add it to your list!

009: I've loved Coraline for a while, but I became completely obsessed with it around Halloween time. The movie follows Coraline, who finds a secret passage which leads to a parallel world, where everyone has buttons instead of eyes and all her dreams come true, but it all goes terribly wrong.

010: and lastly, Frozen! I first saw this at the cinema last year for my birthday and like most people, I've been completely obsessed since!

And that it! My top ten of 2014. What made it on your list?

Fourteen 2014 Beauty Favourites

Hello Lovelies! As 2014 is now officially over, I thought I'd do a little round up of the products that I really loved during the past year. Now admittedly, there are tons of these posts floating about and at first I was very against jumping on the bandwagon, but I actually thought this would be one of those great posts for me to look back on.

001: L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer | £9.99 | Link
I think I discovered this from one of Shivon's videos and I knew instantly I needed it! As well as it being an amazing primer and keeping your makeup put all day, it also leaves the skin looking so amazing and glowy. I've heard this is a dupe for the MAC Strobe Cream, but I actually haven't tried that. If you feel like your skin looks dull and needs a little pick me up, you need this!

002: Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation | £34.00 | Link | Review
This is probably no surprise to you if you read my blog regularly. This foundation is my holy grail, I love everything about it - the coverage, the way it feels on the skin and the finish. This is now something I repurchase again and again.

003: MAC Studio Finish Concealer | £15.50 | Link
I went into MAC last year looking for a product that would help cover up the sun damage I have on my face and they said this could work. And that's when the obsession began. It's such a perfect product that works well as an under eye concealer, on blemishes, dark marks and redness. It is pretty high coverage, but once blended in, I find it can still look pretty natural.

004: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle | £23.00 | Link
Glowy skin is my favourite and I've tried lots of different highlighters this year, but my favourite is definitely Soft & Gentle from MAC. This is such an incredible product, it makes the skin look so glowy and healthy, but still really natural.

(Taken early 2014 wearing S&G!)

005: MAC 217 Blending Brush | £19.00 | Link | Review
I received this for my birthday last January and it was a complete game changer! It blends eyeshadow so effortlessly and leaves it looking so flawless. I now own two of these and use them everyday!

006: MAC Quite Natural Paint Pot | £15.50 | Link
All I wore on my brows last year was this paint pot. I saw a makeup artist that I followed on Instagram use it on her brows and it looked amazing. It basically gives the same effect and finish as the brow pomade which I know own too!

007: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks in 03 & 05 | £8.99 | Link | Review
My favourite drugstore lipsticks are definitely the Rouge Velvets from Bourjois. They're incredibly pigmented, amazingly long lasting (I manage to get a good eight hours of wear) and they don't make your lips feel all horrid either. I definitely need to pick up a few more shades of these this year and if you haven't tried them yet, I really recommenced you do!

008: Barry M Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Sugared Apple | £3.99 | Link | Review
Like I've mentioned many times before, I love the Gelly Nail Paints from Barry M and I was absolutely smitten with their new spring shades that were released early 2014. Sugared Apple was definitely my favourite shade and I wore it constantly - from spring, all the way through to summer. I cannot wait to wear this again!

009: Carmex Lip Balm | £2.69 | Link
I'm pretty lucky with my lips I could go months and months without using any type of lip balm and they will still stay in a reasonably good condition. Last year I decided to stop being so lazy and start giving them the care they need. I tried a few different options, but my favourite was definitely good ol' Carmex! I now use this everyday and my lips feel so much better.

010: YSL Shocking Mascara | £24.50 | Link | Review
I picked this up back in April and I really love it! It lengthens, separates and thickens the lashes and it also makes them super black. It is definitely one of my favourite mascaras ever, but it's also more of an expensive option!

011: MAC 266 Brush | £16.50 | Link
Another of my favourite brushes from 2014 is the 266 from MAC. This has made the process of filling in my brows so much easier and I just don't know how I lived without it!

012: Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush | £21.99 | Link
I always hated applying concealer with just my fingers, I felt like I dragged the skin a little too much for such a delicate area and then I gave the Deluxe Crease Brush a go! It's so soft and blends concealer perfectly which makes it look so much more natural.

013: Too Faced Sweetheart Blush | £24.00 | Link
Blush isn't something I wear too often, but when I did I always used this. It's so lovely and subtle. It is expensive, but it lasts for ages!

014: MAC Lipsticks in Ruby Woo and Please Me | £15.50 | Link
And lastly of course I had to include my top two favourite MAC lipsticks. As you all know, I really love MAC lipsticks, so this was incredibly hard to cut it down to just two, but these are the two I probably wore the most last year. Ruby Woo creates the most perfect red lip. It has incredible pigmentation and lasts all day! Please Me is such a gorgeous 'my lips but better' shade and I find this looks so lovely when patted onto the lips, instead of a thick coating - it looks so natural and makes the lips look a lot more fuller too!

And that's it! My top fourteen products of 2014. I hope you enjoyed this, what were your favourite products of 2014?
