What's On My Face #2

Hello lovelies! Today I thought I'd show you what makeup I was wearing the day I visited the Cat Cafe in Shoreditch, London. The last time I did one of these types of posts was all the way back in February, it's amazing how quickly time has flown past!

First I started off by applying the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer, I don't always use a primer, but as it's starting to get really warm in the UK and the fact I had a few different trains to get on, I thought it would be best to unsure my base will stay in place all day! I then applied the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in the shade Rose Ivory, this is my holy grail foundation and it gives you such a lovely glowy finish which I love! I probably first purchased it around a year ago and have never looked back, it's such a beautiful foundation and I can't believe I still haven't reviewed it! For Concealer I've been loving using MAC Studio Finish and I apply it with the Deluxe Crease Brush from Real Techniques and even though it's high coverage it looks so natural once blended in! For eyebrows I've recently been using a MAC Paintpot in the shade 'Quite Natural' I saw a Make-up Artist that I follow on Instagram use it and it looked amazing, so I thought I'd give it a go and I love the natural finish it gives! I really want to try the Brow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills, but until then this does work well! I then went on to my eyes and I kept it really simple as I knew I wanted to go with a bold lip. I applied the shade Sin from the Original Naked Palette which is a shimmery pinky/champagne shade and on my lashes I used the Waterproof L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara!

I then went back and bronzed my face up a little as I am still SO pale even after going to Mexico! I used the Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzer, I first bought this a couple of years a go and have been in love ever since, for a drug store bronzer it's so lovely and it doesn't make you look orange! I then highlight and powder! The highlighter I used was Soft & Gentle from MAC which I'm obsessed with, it's so lovely and it lasts for agesss and the powder I'm currently using is the beauty powder from MAC that came out with the Maleficent collection. And lastly I finish off by lining my lips with the Barry M Lip Liner in the shade Red. The lip liners from Barry M are so lovely and creamy, they glide across your lips so effortlessly and make my lipstick last SO much longer and then I applied Ruby Woo from MAC. This my favourite red lipstick EVER. I used to shy away from wearing a red lip because I'm so pale, but I think Ruby Woo really compliments pale skin. Don't let the fact this is matte and slightly drying put you off from purchasing it, it's SO beautiful!

Thank you for reading as always! What makeup have you been loving wearing recently?

The Cats

Belle Chaton Izzy
Belle Chaton Oli
Belle Chaton Fred
Belle Chaton George

Hello lovelies! As I've mentioned before, I have four cats and I recently realised I haven't actually ever introduced them properly on my blog and as I have a cat themed review coming up soon, I thought now was the best time to do this...

Isabella / Izzy & Oliver / Oli:
Izzy (the tabby) and Oli (black and white) are brother and sister and are now four years old. Izzy is the only girl and this does sometimes make her feel outnumbered and really unconfident. She's really playful, but also loves a good cuddle. She has the loudest meow and if she wants something (food, attention, to go out) she will defiently let you know haha! She can actually jump up at door handles and open the doors much to our annoyance! Oli is a lot more quiter and laid back compared to his sister, he usually sleeps throughout the day and likes to play with very noisy toys on the stairs at 2am. He's very very shy, so if visitors ever come over, he'll be hiding under my bed until they leave. He's a big softie at heart though and loves a cuddle, especially if you're wearing a onesie!

Fred & George:
The ginger twins. These boys came in to my life back in 2011 and my blog was kind of named after them. They were six weeks old when we brought them home and you can imagine how tiny they were! I was trying to think of a blog name at the time and I settled with 'Belle Chaton' I was going to have 'Belle Chatons' as there are two of them, but it just didn't sound as good! If you haven't guessed already Fred and George are named after the Weasley twins from Harry Potter and they're now three years old. Fred is the smallest cat and can still get away of being called a kitten because he's so tiny, but he seems to think he's the leader of the pack. He's been aware of cameras since he was a baby and he now always has to be in the limelight, as soon as that camera switches on he will be over there trying to get involved, I always say he'd make the perfect Youtube cat! Example
Belle Chaton Fred

He's probably the nicest one to people, he's always up for a cuddle or a stroke. He's literally SO obsessed with treats though and knows which drawer they're kept in and will cry until he get's what he wants! George is extremely playful and is a lot bigger than Fred, because he looves his food! When he's not eating he's crying at you for more food! George is very independent and doesn't always like to be stroked, everything has to be on his terms and he'll claw you if you don't stick to his rules! He's often seen carrying toys around in his mouth, sleeping in awkward places such as next to the toilet and getting up to mischief with his brother Fred!

Thank you for reading about my kitties. If you have a cat, I'd love you to tell me about them in the comments!

Little Superdrug Haul

Hello lovelies! I haven't been buying too many beauty bits recently, as I've been massively into buying clothes, mainly because I'm in the middle of selling all my old ones and I've had to restock my wardrobe haha! So expect a huge clothing haul soon! I did however, pick up a few things from Superdrug, so I thought I'd show you anyway!

Superdrug Haul Hot Cloth Cleanser

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser | £4.99 | Link
First up is the Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug! This year I stopped using makeup wipes because I felt like they never actually left my skin feeling clean. So, I invested in a couple of new skincare products and this was one of them. I'd wanted to try a Hot Cloth Cleanser for ages after hearing so many amazing things about the one from Liz Earle and I wasn't sure how this one would be in comparison, but I LOVE it! It's so affordable, has a lovely smell, it feels so so lovely on the skin and actually leaves my skin feeling really nourished and clean! I'm nearly finished with the first tube I bought, so I needed to repurchase. If you're looking to step away from the makeup wipes and want an affordable cleanser, I definitely recommend this! {Review Here}

Superdrug Haul Rouge Velvet Lipstick

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks in Hot Pepper 3 and Ole Flamingo 5 | £8.99 | Link
After hearing so many bloggers talk non stop about how amazing these are, I was lusting over them SO much and when I saw they were reduced down to £5.99, it just felt like it was meant to be! I won't reveal my thoughts on these just yet, but I'm sure there will be a review up in no time!

Superdrug Haul Coconut Oil

Superdrug Coconut Oil | £2.29 | Link
This is another product I've been hearing so much about in the blogging world lately, clearly I'm influenced easily! Again, I won't say too much about this as I'll do a review! One thing I will say though, is it says on the back 'This natural product is solid at room temperature' but because of how warm it is currently in the UK, it has completely melted.. oops!

Superdrug Haul MUA Lipstick in Nectar
Superdrug Haul MUA Lipstick in Nectar

MUA Lipstick in Nectar 16 | £1.00 | Link
I bought this because I had heard it was a dupe for one of the MAC lipsticks I own, so I was going to do a post about it, but it arrived and although they do look similar in the the tube I don't really think I can call it a dupe, which is slightly annoying! haha

Superdrug Haul

Sure Bright Fragrance Collection Deodorant | £1.79 | Link

And lastly, is a pretty boring item. This is my current go to deodorant. If you know me well, you'll know that I'm really sensitive to smells, so it's rare I love the scent of something, but this smells gorgeous and works really well! I think they also do this in spray form, so I think I'll have to pick them up soon too!

I hope you enjoyed this small beauty haul, I know my hauls are usually a lot bigger than this, so I hope you don't mind!

What beauty products have you picked up recently?

July Empties

I've wanted to do an 'empties' post since I started blogging again back in January and a few times I've had a few empties floating around my room and usually someone ends up throwing them away thinking I'm just being lazy and haven't thrown things away haha! This time I made sure I kept them hidden in my bath products drawer and here we go!

Lacura Beauty Eye Make-up Removal Pads | {GIFTED}
First up are these Makeup Removal Pads from the brand Lacura which is the beauty range at Aldi. Aldi isn't a shop I ever go in, so I wasn't even aware they sold beauty products. Charlie's Nan absolutely loves Aldi and she gave me these. I thought these would be really harsh on the skin, but they were actually really lovely and gentle. They remove eye makeup super quickly, but they do leave some oily residue behind.

Would you repurchase? Probably not.

Next up is the Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel from Original Source. I'd heard SO many amazing things about these shower gels and this scent in particular, so I finally went ahead and bought it. The scent is really lovely, it smells just like raspberry milkshake. The formula is really smooth, it lathers up really nicely and leaves skin feeling really lovely and soft!

Would you repurchase? Yes.

I have an obsession with body scrubs and I think the ones from S&G have to be my favourite! I got this one ages a go and I was scared to use it up because I loved it that much! The scrub itself is pink, has the usual gorgeous S&G scent and leaves my skin feeling SO silky and smooth.

Would you repurchase? Yes, I'm thinking of buying the bigger tub!

Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil | £5.50
I first bought this when all bloggers couldn't get enough of Moroccan Oil, at the time I couldn't afford the real thing, so I thought I'd give this a whirl instead! This stuff is amazing! It's so cheap, lasts for ages and always works wonders. Last night after washing my hair, it decided to go as frizzy as Hermoine Grangers, so I put a couple of pumps of this on the ends and it's now really shiny and sleek yay!

Would you repurchase? Already have!

E.L.F Eyelid Primer | £1.95
I bought this such a long time ago and it's been sitting in my drawer waiting patiently to be featured in an empties posts and here it is! I always wanted to try the Primer Potion from Urban Decay, but I never felt like spending that much on a primer, so I picked this one up. It's not life changing, but it does make your eyeshadow look a lot more pigmented and stops it from creasing!

Would you repurchase? No. I have the UD Primer Potion now, which I loooove!

I love cats. I have four of my own (which I'll mention more about in another post) and my blog name is also cat related! Cat cafes have been extremely popular in Japan for over 10 years and the concept has fascinated for ages, but I never thought I would have the chance to go.. Whilst I was in Mexico and nursing my horrible sun burn I was Googling all about cat cafes and found that there is one in New York. Obviously I felt like a trip to New York was essential, that was until I heard about 'Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium' which is located in Shoreditch, London. Lady Dinah's was named after Alice's cat in Alice in Wonderland and is home to eleven cats, which you can read all about here. The cafe itself is beautiful and is pretty spacious. It's spread over two different floors, the first floor is your traditional shabby chic tea room, downstairs has various different tables, chairs, sofas and it also has the best cat jungle gym I've ever seen!

I booked as soon as I got home from Mexico and went on 8th July and I had a time slot of 1.15 (Time slots run from 11am - 9pm). Each session lasts two hours and they supply toys and cat brushes so you can make the most of your time with the cats! The staff are really lovely and pretty laid back, they only ask you don't pick up the cats, or wake them if they're sleeping to make sure they continue feeling safe and happy! It's £5 per person to enter and obviously there is food and drink to buy. didn't feel that hungry, so I just had a slice of red velvet cake which was uh-mazing! and I finally tried rose lemonade which I loved! I did see someone have a pot of tea, in a CAT TEAPOT though, amazing! On the way out, there's a little shop where you can buy cute merchandise. I bought a Tote Bag (£5) Cat Ears (£5) Postcard (£1) and the Badges were £1.50 each!

I had the most amazing time and I'll definitely be returning soon. I highly recommend if you've been thinking of going to book ASAP! Head over to the Lady Dinah's website here to find out more and feel free to leave me a comment with any questions you may have.

PS - If you're a cat lady like me, I also suggest you follow their Instagram for pictures and videos of the cats aaaand follow their Twitter as they often post when there is extra availability from cancellations!

Mermaid Nails

Topshop Celestial and Models Own Indian Ocean

Topshop Celestial and Models Own Indian Ocean

A while back now, I saw a picture on Instagram that Jess from Jambers8 uploaded of her nails. You know when you see a picture and you're like OH MY GAD I NEED IT!It was one of those times, so I purchased the nail polishes she used immediately!

Topshop nail polishes have to be my favourite, they glide so easily on the nails and are opaque in two coats. Annoyingly I don't have many as my local Topshop doesn't stock any makeup, so I usually wait until I order online or am in Chelmsford! Celestial was a shade I'd been lusting over for a while and if I remember correctly Beauty Crush raved about this too? Celestial is a beautiful pale blue shade with a creme finish and it looks lovely just on it's own or with a little glitter over the top!

As I've mentioned before I don't actually like Models Own nail polishes that much. I know so many people LOVE them, but I can't seem to get on with most of them! Indian Ocean is from the Beetlejuice collection and is one of the few Models Own nail polishes I actually like. It's a very sheer pale blue shade, with pink to violet duo-chrome and I personally think it only looks nice with a base colour underneath, it's too sheer to wear on the nails alone.

These two together are so so beautiful and look amazing when the light hits them, which makes them perfect for Summer! I have them on my nails currently, but I don't think these are all that long lasting, they only lasted on my nails for a few days before chipping, boo!

PS - I don't think the pictures do them justice, sorry!

Have you tried these two together?
