The Summer Tag

*All images from Pinterest*

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all well! During every season, I always do a seasonal themed tag and as we're now in summer, I thought I'd finally get round to doing the summer tag!

001: What is your favourite thing about Summer?
The weather! The sun just seems to make everyone so much more happier and I also feel like it gives you so much more motivation than just snuggling up and having Harry Potter marathons like we do in A/W! However, I do hate extreme heat because I'm so self-conscious, I hate showing my legs and arms, so I always cover up and end up melting haha!

002: Do you have a favourite summer drink?
I'm obsessed with Fentimans Rose Lemonade and I also love those fruit refreshers from Starbucks, they're so perfect on a hot day!

003: Is there a special place you like to visit each summer?
In recent years, I haven't been every summer, but I looove going to Brighton! I used to visit pretty much every weekend when I was a child, I love that place SO much!

004: What's your favourite makeup look for summer?
I usually opt for a light base with lots of highlighter to create that lovely glowy skin. There's nothing worse than wearing lots of makeup when it's hot and it all just melting off!

005: Dresses or Skirts?
Pretty summer dresses, always!

006: Festivals or Vacations?
I've only ever been to one music festival and it wasn't the most glamorous experience I have to say, so definitely a vacation!

007: What is your signature summer hairstyle?
I don't really have one to be honest! I do love to have it down and curled, but when it's hot, this is pretty much unbearable because of how long my hair is, it makes me overheat!

008: What is your signature summer scent?
I'm currently really loving Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs. I had been wanting it for a while and finally bought it with all the Boots points I had saved! It's such a lovely, light, floral scent - perfect for summer!

009: Pool or Beach?
I love the atmosphere of being at the beach and I think it's so much more fun being at the beach than sitting around a pool, but I don't always like swimming in the ocean, so I'll have to say pool!

010: BBQ or Seafood?
BBQ's! I love BBQ's -  Although I haven't actually been to one this year yet, but I think they're such a good way to catch up with friends and family and I absolutely love the smell of BBQ's!

011: Do you tan or burn?
It depends... If I catch the tan gradually, it will always turn into a tan but when I went to Mexico I burnt so badly and so quickly! Oh... the pain :(

012: Favourite Summer Song?
I don't really have one to be honest.. In the summer months, I tend to listen to chart music a lot more for some reason! At the moment I'm really loving:
Only Yesterday - Taken By Trees,
Worth It - Fifth Harmony,
Talking Body - Tove Lo,
Good For You - Selena Gomez,
Flashlight - Bethany Mota

As always, thank you for reading! And I hope you all have a perfect summer, whatever you end up doing!

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer Blog Review 2015

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all well! At the beginning of the year, all I kept hearing about was how amazing this concealer was and that everyone needed it in their lives asap. Obviously I added it to my wishlist right away, but it seems everyone else had the same idea and it was sold out everywhere! In the end, I managed to purchase the last one in Superdrug and I've now had a good few months to try it out, so I thought I'd finally tell you my thoughts! The Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer retails at £7.99 and comes in two shades - Light and Nude.

In terms of packaging, it comes in a basic plastic tube and instead of the usual doe-foot applicators that I'm used to, it has a sponge applicator. I usually tend to avoid these because they become unhygienic pretty quickly, but aside from that I do actually like it! The sponge allows you to conceal large areas of the skin quickly and it also distributes product evenly. I don't feel like it's the best for blending though, so I always just use a normal foundation brush to blend.

The formula of the product is so lovely and creamy, which makes it so effortless to blend. It contains Goji Berry which helps to hydrate the under eye area and Haloxyl which reduces any puffiness. It also claims to erase fine lines, which I do agree with. I always prefer to opt for a light foundation and go for a more heavy duty concealer and this concealer has the most amazing coverage, It does a perfect job of covering up my super dark circles under my eyes and any blemishes I may have. I would say it's a medium coverage, but it still feels so lightweight on the skin, which I love!

Overall, I really love this concealer and think it's perfect for both, concealing dark circles and blemishes. I'm currently using it more than my holy grail concealer from Collection and that's saying something! The only slight negative I have is how poor the shade range is, but hopefully they may bring out some more shades in the future? If you're looking for a budget friendly, full coverage concealer - this is perfect!

Have you tried this?

10 Movies That Make Me Feel Nostalgic

Hello Lovelies! Today I'm feeling pretty ill and all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch all the movies I loved when I was growing up and then I thought it would be a pretty good idea for a blog post! Warning: this post will be full of gifs and nostalgia.

13 Going on 30 (2004)

13 Going on 30 was alwaaaays my favourite movie and I would watch it nearly every day. Even if I was staying at my Nan and Grandad's I would watch that bad boy on my Portable DVD Player. Oh, the memories... This movie makes you realise that you should appreciate what you have because you don't really know what you have until it's gone. I still love watching this movie now and listening to the soundtrack, it's too good!

Mean Girls (2004)

Next up is Mean Girls, which is obviously no surprise, it had to be in this list somewhere. I became obsessed with Mean Girls after the very first time I watched it and after that I would watch it every Friday night without fail. I'm one of those really annoying people who randomly quotes this movie all the time, I love it SO much. I'm also still a little sad that Mean Girls 2 was such a disappointment. Can you believe it's been 11 years since this was first released?!

A Cinderella Story (2004)

Confession: I love Hilary Duff! Ever since Lizzie McGuire I was completely obsessed with Hils, she was my queen and I wanted to be her SO much! Anything she was in was for sure a firm favourite of mine, but I think the Cinderella Story was my all time favourite movie because Hilary and Chad Michael Murray together was pretty much the best thing to have ever happened, agreed?

The Princess Diaries (2001)

The Princess Diaries books by Meg Cabot were one of the first series of books that I remember reading and really enjoying and I really loved the movie too and watched it waaay too much!

Clueless (1995)

When I was younger, all I wanted was to be Cher Horowitz and have her wardrobe, it was literally the dream. Clueless is now 20 years old but still one of my favourite movies ever and when I was going through my breakup a few months back, I watched this every single night haha!

John Tucker Must Die (2006)

This movie was another one I would watch on repeat and it's all about the sassiest ladies getting revenge on their 'boyfriend' It's such a good movie, I need to watch it again asap!

Just My Luck (2006)

Anyone that knows me personally,  knows that back in a day I had a huge obsession with McFly and this movie was everything to me just because they're in it! It's such a cringey film and the acting is absolutely awful, but it brings back all those cute memories haha

P.S. I Love You (2007)

I've watched this film more than a hundred times, can I get through it without crying? NOPE

Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)

The Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella were another book series I was completely obsessed with and I really enjoyed reading them all, although Becky Bloomwood was incredibly selfish and so god damn annoying! I loved the movie just as much and I feel like Isla was perfect for the role of Becky!

Crossroads (2002)

Britney Spears was my absolute idol when I was growing up and my bedroom walls were covered in pictures of her (fangirl alert) so obviously Crossroads had to make it into this list, didn't it? It's not the best movie, but I can't help but love it anyway!

What were your favourite movies when you were growing up?

My Summer Obsessions

Hello Lovelies! As it's now Summer, I thought I'd finally start writing some Summer themed posts. I recently randomly came across the "Summer Obsessions Tag" that was originally created by Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter a couple of years ago, so I thought I'd do it!

Favourite Product?
My favourite product this summer definitely has to be the Chocolate Bar Palette from Too Faced! I recently wrote a whole blog post all about it, so I won't go on about it too much and bore you all, but it seriously is such a beautiful palette. It has such a good selection of shades and finishes and the formula of the eyeshadows are perfect, they're super creamy and easy to blend. And I don't think I'll ever get bored of the chocolate scent of the eyeshadows!

Favourite Scent?
During the summer months, I always opt for light, floral scents and my current favourite is Daisy Dream from Marc Jacobs! It's such a lovely summer scent and as I'm terrible at describing scents, I won't even attempt! If you're looking for a new fragrance for Summer, definitely go and pick up a tester!

Favourite Website?
I'm pretty boring and don't actually go on too many different websites, but something I have been loving recently is Tumblr! I've had my account since 2009 and I've been loving it more than Pinterest recently, there's nothing better than reblogging pretty pictures and meaningful quotes when you can't sleep!

Favourite Read?
I always go through phases with reading, sometimes all I do is read and other times, I don't read at all. At the moment, I'm not really reading anything but I do want to re-read Paper Towns before watching the movie!

Favourite YouTuber?
There are three YouTube channels that I am currently really loving and I'm always so happy when I see a new video of theirs in my subscription box and they are: Shane Dawson, Brittney Lee Saunders and Lucy & Lydia. Shane was the first YouTuber I ever started to watch back in 2009 and I still love watching his videos now, I know his humor isn't to everyone's taste but I love him! I've only been watching Brittney for a few months now, but I am completely obsessed with her videos! I love how she isn't like all the other typical "beauty gurus" she's so real and honest, definitely go and give one of her videos a watch! And lastly, Lucy and Lydia - I've been watching these two for a couple of years now and I love their videos so much. They're so lovely to watch and you can see how much effort they put into the filming and editing process.

Favourite Movie/TV Series?
Okay, I added this question myself, but any excuse to talk about my Netflix obsession, right?! At the moment, I am completely obsessed with watching Grey's Anatomy. Someone I follow on Tumblr has loved it for years and she's always posted quotes from it and it really made me want to watch it, so when I saw all the seasons were on Netflix, I had to watch it!

What are your summer obsessions?

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review Blogger 2015

Hello, Lovelies! As I've mentioned before, Too Faced are definitely one of my favourite makeup brands - The packaging is always super cute and usually pretty gimmicky and the products are always of a high quality. The Chocolate Bar Palette retails at £39 (£45 on first release) and it's something I've recently been reaching for every day, so I thought I'd finally write a little review!

As always, I'll start by talking about the packaging - Just like all Too Faced products, the packaging is super cute and you all know that I'm a complete sucker when it comes to cute packaging. The box is supposed to resemble a chocolate bar wrapper and the palette itself - a bar of chocolate. The palette comes in a metal tin that has a handy magnetic closure, which I love because you know everything will be so much more protected when travelling than the usual palettes made of cardboard or plastic and it also has a pretty good sized mirror, which again makes it a perfect palette to take on the go!

Inside the palette are 16 shades ranging from neutral browns to pinks and plums. The eyeshadows are all infused with antioxidant-cocoa powder, which gives them the scent of real chocolate and they all have cute chocolate themed shade names too! What I love the most about this palette is definitely the formula of the eyeshadows, they are all so pigmented and super creamy, which makes them so easy to apply and blend and they last such a long time on the eyes too! The shades I've been loving the most are: Salted Caramel (A matte, warm-toned brown), Creme Brulee (A dark, metallic gold), Amaretto (A frosted, warm-toned brown) and Champagne Truffle (A pinky/white highlight shade)

Overall, I really love this palette and I feel like it would be the perfect palette if you're just starting out with eyeshadow because it has a pretty amazing shade range with a variety of finishes (matte, satin, shimmer and frost) I've been completely loyal to the Naked Palettes for a number of years now, but I definitely love this so much more than any other palette I've ever tried. Too Faced also recently released the "Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette" and that also looks pretty perfect, so definitely check that one out too!

Are you a fan of Too Faced Eyeshadows?

Strobing For Summer?

Strobing Makeup S/S15 Blog

Since my little blogging hiatus, it seems a new beauty trend has hit us called Strobing. All anyone seems to be talking about right now is how contouring is out and Strobing is in. If you're unsure of what Strobing consists of, it's basically just a super fancy word for highlighting the skin. Instead of adding some dimension to the face with contouring, Strobing is simply just highlighting the skin in the areas of your face where the light would naturally hit (brow bone, cupids bow, chin, bridge of your nose, cheekbones and forehead) without the use of any contour, which leaves you with the most beautiful, glowing skin. I feel like I never really perfected my contour, so I would often opt for this type of look even before I knew it was an actual thing called "Strobing" just because I felt like it looked better on me. As always with highlighting, I find it can either look really lovely and fresh-faced or it look like you're an ice queen - depending on the products you use, so I thought I'd share my top 3 highlighting products with you today (liquid, powder and cream)

Avon Luminous Finish Face Illuminator
When opting for a really dewy base, I always like to mix a tiny amount of liquid highlighter in with my foundation. It leaves my skin looking so healthy and refreshed. There's a few different products I like to achieve this, but my current favourite is the Luminous Finish Face Illuminator from Avon and you can see how this looks in my most recent "What's on my Face"

MAC Soft & Gentle // £24.00 // Link
I first fell in love with Soft & Gentle back in 2011 and it's still a firm favourite of mine now and something I use most days. I would even go as far as to say it's the best highlighting powder I've ever tried. The product is so finely milled which makes it so easy to blend into the skin, leaving you with such a natural looking glow.

No7 Highlighting Stick // £9.95 // Link
And the last product is a cream highlighter, I find these can be a little hit or miss but this one is actually really lovely! The packaging is really great for travelling or keeping in your handbag and the product itself is amazing. It can be applied either under your foundation or on top but I usually apply it over the top and it seriously lasts all day!

As always, thank you for reading! What are your thoughts on Strobing?

What's On My Face #6

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all well! Whilst I was planning blog posts, I realised I hadn't done a "What's on my Face" since October and as a lot of my favourite products have changed since then I thought I'd do one today! I feel like I always go through phases in terms of makeup. Sometimes I really enjoy it and love the process of applying it and other times, it's a complete chore. At the moment, I'm completely obsessed with trying different products and mixing up my makeup looks.

Face
As always, I start by priming my face and at the moment I've really been loving the Instablur Primer from The Body Shop. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth which creates the perfect base for foundation. As it's now Summer and the weather is a lot warmer, I've changed up my foundation routine a little and I feel like I've found the perfect combination for that beautiful summer dewy glow: The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation mixed with a small amount of the Avon Luminous Finish Face IlluminatorAs I had a pretty light base I decided to go for a full coverage concealer and went in with the MAC Studio Finish Concealer. I love this concealer so much, it gives the most perfect full coverage, but it's also so easy to blend to avoid it looking at all cakey. In terms of powder products I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to keep my concealer in place and I also used the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow duo, which I'm so in love with. I could easily use this every day, but I try not to because of how expensive it is! And to finish off I just applied a small amount of the Benefit Rockateur Blush!

Eyes:
Before moving on to my eyes, I always do my eyebrows first and for the last few months I've been obsessed with using the Anastasia DipBrow Pomade with a MAC 266 Brush. It's so easy to create a really defined brow, but still keeping it looking natural. Priming my eyelids isn't something I do all year round, but for me, it's definitely an essential in the warmer months. The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk has been heavily raved about in the blogging world for the longest time and I can see why! It's so easy to blend and makes eyeshadow incredibly more vivid and increases the longevity. My current go to palette is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and I switch up which shades I use a lot, but on this day I used: Salted Caramel, Creme Brulee. Amaretto and Champagne Truffle. I then just finished off by applying the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner and I also applied the Revlon Dramatic 3X Volume False Lashes. These are probably one of my favourite pairs of lashes, they're really cheap and you can get a few uses out of them too.

Lips:
And lastly for my lips; I first lined my lips with the Soar Lip Pencil from MAC and I also applied the Revlon Matte Balm in the shade Elusive

*Some of the colours may be a little off due to a filter on the image, sorry!
