Wishlist #2 : Homeware

Since I redecorated my room last year I've been completely obsessed with Interior Design and I spend far too much of my time browsing Pinterest pinning various 'Dream Homes'. We've recently decided to completely redecorate our living room and I'm so excited! I've already been looking on so many websites for some cute homeware items, so I thought I'd create a wishlist. I used to write up a wishlist once a week, but I stopped because It made me want to spend money haha, I do really miss it though! My taste is quite girly with a mix of shabby chic and I think finding nice vintage looking items can be pretty expensive, but shops like The Range and Dunelm Mill sell fantastic alternatives!

I'm obsessed with vintage looking mirrors, but they're usually pretty expensive. The Range do amazing mirrors, I bought one for my room last year (picture here) and it was only around £20, but looks so much more expensive! I really want to get another mirror for the living room to go above the mantelpiece and this one is so pretty! Dunelm Mill is probably my favourite homeware store because the items they sell are so beautiful and it's usually pretty reasonably priced. I love keeping up to date with the latest collections they bring out and at the moment they have a collection called 'Candy Rose' and it's so so pretty! I feel like I need everything to create my dream pastel kitchen and I'll start off by buying this beautiful floral jug! I started getting into Yankee Candles last year and I'm still trying out all the different scents to find my favourites. Whilst I was in the gift shop at Colchester Zoo I smelt the 'Sicilian Lemon' candle and it's so so good and I've been lusting over it ever since!

Thank you for reading, as always! Do you enjoy reading wishlist posts?

Book Review | We Were Liars

We Were Liars
We Were Liars
We Were Liars / E. Lockhart | Link

Reading has always been something I've really enjoyed ever since I was a little girl. My Mum always used to call me a book worm because I loved nothing more than curling up with a good book. I still do, but I don't seem to read as much as I used to and I also find that I read a lot more in the Autumn/Winter time! I've wanted to start doing book reviews on my blog for a while and I've recently downloaded the Kindle app on my phone and bought a few books, so I thought I'd start with them! The first one is called 'We Were Liars' I saw a couple of people on Instagram say how much they enjoyed the book and as it was only 99p there wasn't much to loose!

"A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth
."

Cadence Sinclair Easton is nearly eighteen and is from the rather wealthy Sinclair family. Every year Cady and her family spend their summer on the private Cape Cod island, Beechwood which her grandparents own. Whilst she's there she spends every moment with her two cousins Mirren, Johnny and his friend, Gat. They don't stay in touch the rest of the year, but they're inseparable whilst on the island and are known by the adults as 'The Liars'

After the summer when she was fifteen, everything changed. Cady started becoming really unwell, suffering from severe migraines and slight amnesia. She knows something terrible happened that summer, but doesn't know what and no one will tell her exactly what happened. The following summer Cady went travelling in Europe with her father and whenever she tried to contact the liars, she wouldn't get a response. She goes back to the island Summer 17 and rekindles her friendships with the liars and starts falling more and more in love with Gat. One thing is for sure though, she is determined to discover what did happen during summer fifteen which changed everything.

This is one of those books that has so much mystery about it and you don't want to put it down, because you just need to know what happened! The ending is pretty shocking and I never saw it coming.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first book review! If you've read this book, let me know what you thought.. Did you expect the ending?

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks Review

It always happens. A new product is released, everyone raves about it and I always give in and need to try it for myself. The Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks from Bourjois were no different. There are 8 different shades in the collection - 01 Personne ne Rouge, 02 Frambourjoise, 03 Hot Pepper, 04 Peach Club, 05 Ole Flamingo!, 06 Pink Pong, 07 Nude-ist!, 08 Grand Cru. I have the shades 03 Hot Pepper which is a bright orangey red and 05 Ole Flamingo which is a bright fuchsia.

"Bold, matte and long-lasting colour with 24hr hold. It's lightweight, velvety texture and non-drying formula gives extreme comfort that doesn't smudge! From sassy reds to vibrant pinks and everyday nudes there is a colour to suit every occasion."

When I first applied these, I wasn't sure, but I'm completely in love now! They apply like a gloss with a doe-foot applicator and dry to a really lovely vivid matte finish. They're so creamy, lightweight and glide on the lips like an absolute dream! In terms of lasting power they are pretty amazing and I have worn the shade 'Ole Flamingo' for a good 10 hours before it wore off, but I do find 03 Hot Pepper seems to only last a few hours, I'm not sure why...

Overall, these are really amazing! I love that they're not drying at all and last for ages without having to reapply. I'm so in love with them and will definitely pick up a few more shades in the future!

Have you tried these? Which shades do you love?

Sun Damage & SPF

Sun Damage

Although summer is nearly over, I am the type of person who will wear facial SPF all year round. I'm not sure how many of you will already know this, but when I was around 10 I got some pretty noticeable sun damage on one side of my face. It wasn't that bad at first, but over the years when I've been pretty lazy with my SPF application It has got a lot darker. Now I feel like I HAVE to wear a full coverage foundation at all times and even with that it's not completely covered..  My top three facial SPF products I've tried are these three from Boots!

Boots Soltan Face SPF 30
Soltan Face SPF 30 | £4.50 | Link
I bought this just before I went on my first holiday abroad and It works really well! It soaks into the skin really quickly which means it doesn't melt off as soon as you get into the sun and it leaves the skin feeling so soft! It's so amazing for the price!

No7 Anti-Dark Spot Facial Sun Protect SPF 30 | £12.00 | Link
I bought this for Mexico as I thought it was best I spent a little more on SPF products. I love this! You can be in the sun for ages and your skin will still feel amazing. I do hate how long this takes to soak into the skin though and if you go in the sun before it soaks in, it will completely melt off :(

No7 SPF 15 Gradual Facial Tan | £9.95 | Link
I also bought this for Mexico and I'm in love with it! It's great that it has SPF in, leaves the skin feeling amazingly soft and it also gives me a little bit of a tan, that I wouldn't get otherwise!

Nivea Lip Care Sun Protect SPF 30 | £3.29 | Link
And lastly, I thought I'd add this in there as well! I get really sore lips all year round and in the summer they get pretty sun burn, so I always purchase this every year and I use it all year round! It protects the lips, moisturizes them and I love that it's waterproof too, amazing!

 Thank you for reading!

Floral Loving

H&M Rose Print Skater Dress
H&M Rose Print Skater Dress
H&M Floral Skater Skirt
H&M Floral Skater Skirt

It's no secret that I have a slight obsession when it comes to all things floral and recently whilst I was browsing the H&M website I found these three items that I completely fell in love with! I don't really shop in H&M that much to be honest, all I've ever bought is a few bikinis and a pair of jeans years ago! Skater dresses and skirts are always something I tend to gravitate towards, mainly because I find them to flatter my figure the most, so as soon as I saw this beautiful floral dress and skirt I fell in love! The dress is pretty tight fitting, so if you're bigger in the chest area it might be a good idea going up a size! When I bought it, it was £15 and it's now been reduced to £7 which is such a bargain for such a beautiful dress! The skirt is really comfortable and has a stretchy waist, so it's fine just going with your normal size! I love how flattering both of these items are, I have pretty big hips and these hide them perfectly! Lastly, I picked up a rose necklace, which I love, I also recently picked up a daisy necklace from River Island, it's pretty clear I enjoy flower themed jewellery. Thank you for reading, as always!

Victoria's Secret Coconut Passion Fragrance Mist

Victoria's Secret Coconut Passion Review
Victoria's Secret Coconut Passion Body Mist |  £6.77 | Link
I've been wanting to visit a Victoria's Secret store for the longest time. I'm aware there are a few in the UK now, but they're not local to me, so I still hadn't been. Whilst I was in Mexico, I went to an amazing little shopping village in Cancun called La Isla. There were lots of amazing shops such as MAC, Zara, Marc Jacobs ect and I was so happy to find that they also had a Victoria's Secret! The store was a pretty small one and sold the beauty products mostly and a few accessories such as the phone cases! I was really drawn to the Body Mists as I've heard so many amazing things about them, but I was unsure of which scents to get, so I spent ages smelling all the different ones. I ended up purchasing four different scents which I showed you in my Mexico Haul

The scent I've been reaching for the most is 'Coconut Passion' which is described as "A seductive, warm fragrance. Seduce with Coconut Passion, a rendezvous of rich vanilla and warm coconut. Experience the luxury of fragrance. Refreshing formula is infused with conditioning aloe vera and calming chamomile"

It's such a lovely light, sweet, summery scent! You can mostly smell the vanilla, but you can tell that there is a slight bit of coconut in there too and although it's only a body mist, I find that it is still pretty strong and lasts for a while! I also have this scent in the body lotion form and I'm so obsessed with that too and when using both in conjunction of each other, you smell SO good! I also love that it leaves the skin feeling so soft as it contains aloe vera.

Have you tried any of the VS body mists? What is your favourite scent?

Hello lovelies! I hope you had a lovely weekend :) Today's post is going to be about an amazing clothing company I'm obsessed with! I first heard about CVD when they made a pair of Custom Levi Shorts for Charlotte from Geordie Shore and I fell in love right away!

What is CVD?
Custom Vintage Dublin is an online clothing company which was founded back in June 2012 by Ali Delaney. She runs the business and customizes the items by hand and she does a really amazing job too! She's a really lovely lady and you can tell she really enjoys what she does and it really shows through her work!

What does CVD sell?
When I first found the company they only sold the custom denim shorts I believe? But now they also sell swimwear, jewellery and other clothing items! I've personally only ever bought the Levi Denim Shorts and there are two ways you can buy these! "Ready Made Shorts" are obviously the shorts that are made in advance in various different sizes. Purchasing these are really straight forward and arrive super quickly, I've bought one pair of my shorts this way, but the other times I opted for 'Custom Made Shorts' which is basically when you email Ali telling her exactly what you want and these take a few weeks to be made!

Overall I really love them! Admittedly they are a little expensive, but I find they fit SO much better than shorts from shops such as Topshop ect and I now have three pairs and in recent months the likes of Kylie Jenner have been seen wearing them too, which is pretty amazing! As I'm writing this, it's pouring of rain outside.. Sadly I think the UK summer is over. If it's nice and sunny where you live I definitely recommend you pick up a pair, they ship worldwide!

YSL Shocking Mascara in 01 Deep Black | £23.00 | Link

Hello lovelies! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Today I'm going to be telling you all about the YSL Mascara that I picked up at Duty Free back in April!

I have quite a lot of different mascaras in my collection to be honest, but I've never found one I would deem holy grail, so the search continues.. Whilst I was in Duty Free they were advertising the YSL Shocking Mascara EVERYWHERE and I remembered how much everyone used to rave about it, so obviously I just HAD to get it didn't I?!  Firstly, lets just take a second to take in how oh so beautiful the packaging is! From the golden shiny box, to the luxurious golden tube with the embossed YSL logo on the front, I'm so in love. I'm always a sucker for pretty packaging, but this is something extra special! The wand has quite small bristles that are different lengths, which help catch every lash! In the above picture I'm wearing just one coat and I love that this is a mascara that makes the lashes look great for everyday but you can also build it up for an evening look! The formula is thick and wet, but isn't gloopy at all and it doesn't flake either. It lengthens and thickens the lashes, but it doesn't separate the lashes that much, which is a little bit annoying! I do really really love it though and I've been using it everyday, the only downside is that it costs £23!

Have you tried this? What did you think of it?

A little trip to Essex

walking in chelmsford / another storm / garden centre cats / garden centre arches / the bake house / dfs / driving home from clacton

Hello lovelies! As some of you may already know my boyfriend is originally from Essex, so we do spend as much time as we can up there. As we hadn't been down since around June we thought we'd go and spend a few days in Chelmsford to catch up with his family! We were hoping for some lovely weather, but the weather has been SO weird, hasn't it? One minute it will be really lovely and sunny and then there's a massive storm! On Sunday, whilst there was a bit of sun we thought we'd go on a walk as the scenery in Chelmsford is so pretty and it was lovely until yet another storm started! On Monday, we went to a few different garden centres.. We're just about to attempt to make a little memorial garden section in our garden in memory of my Grandad, so we did want to get some plants. We ended up getting two Climbing Roses, a Hydrangea and a Dahlia, soo pretty and if it all goes to plan and ends up looking okay, I'll probably share a couple of pictures! Also in the Garden Centre there was THREE CATS, I was in love! After that we had lunch in a lovely little place called 'The Bake House' which is Writtle.. If you're ever in the area I would definitely recommend it! We then went to visit Charlie's Nan and Grandad which was lovely!

On Tuesday, we headed over to Colchester to visit Colchester Zoo. I love going to Zoos and haven't been in ages and I haven't actually been to the Zoo in Colchester before, but Charlie always used to go as a child (or Colchaster Zoo as he used to call it haha) It's really lovely, but I do think we went on one of the worst days as it was SO SO busy. You could barely even take pictures, so I'd definitely like to go back soon when it's a little less busy! Even though I'm 20 in five months I still felt the need to buy a cuddly toy in the gift shop on the way out and we also bought some rocky road fudge OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD! We then drove all the way up to Clacton to visit Charlie's other Nan and Grandad and then we went home and sleepily ate a takeaway Harvester, soo good :)

What have you been up to recently?
